What makes a usable print phrase
A classical line works best when source, wording and context stay together. The phrase should fit the room, gift or study purpose and remain readable at the intended distance. A famous line is not automatically appropriate for every setting; a line about effort, learning or humility can communicate something different from a general blessing.
Plan the layout around the grammar
Parallel clauses often need a balanced horizontal or multi-column layout. A single phrase may suit a square or vertical composition. Do not break the line in the middle of a grammatical relationship or crop one character to fit. A final proof should be read by someone who can check the complete text.
Source and attribution
Phrase notes should identify the text where possible, distinguish a confirmed quotation from a traditional saying and avoid inventing an author when attribution is disputed. Different translations may be valid. The notes are not a scholarly edition.
